At Heketi Community Charter School we stand in solidarity with our Black community and condemn all acts of racism and brutality against them and all ethnic and racial groups living in this country.

This is undoubtedly a moment that calls us to reflect, especially as a school committed to social justice and that serves communities of color in the South Bronx --- now and ALWAYS.

The murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade and all Black lives we've lost to systemic racism call us to fight together as communities, in search of rights as well as opportunities to live without fear for the simple fact of being Black. This moment goes beyond raising awareness, and behooves us to continue the fight against anti-Blackness and the liberation of our Black community.
