A charter school shall not discriminate against any student or limit the admission of any student on the basis of ethnicity, national origin, gender, disability, intellectual ability, measures of achievement or aptitude, athletic ability, disability, race, creed, gender, national origin, religion or ancestry or any other ground that would be unlawful if done by a school. A school may not require any action by a student or family (such as an admissions test, interview, essay, attendance at an information session, etc.) in order for an applicant to either receive or submit an application for admission to that school.
However, Heketi Community Charter School provides an academic program specifically designed for English Language Learners.
If an applicant chooses not to provide this optional information, the applicant cannot be disqualified for admission to the school (although the applicant will not receive the admissions preference).
Heketi Community Charter School is a community-grown public charter school that features a dynamic and immersive dual-language program, a social-emotional aspect to learning, a culturally-relevant curriculum, and effectively provides expeditionary learning in the classroom.
We encourage our admitted families to become familiar with our Student & Family Handbook, our Safety Handbook and our Academic Intervention Services. Please view the following documents and our teachers or staff members will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
You may apply for admission by completing our online form or by downloading an application (in English or Español). Families may submit applications in person by visiting our school, or they may submit to us via email (firstname.lastname@example.org). Please feel free to call us at (718) 260-6002 with any questions regarding your application.
